I want to help job seekers be successful,
so I created Career Handler.

When I say the job search is in my blood, it may sound a bit dramatic, but it is true.  Like my father, I am an executive search consultant and I have worked as a senior level recruiter for most of my career. I have placed 100's of senior level executives and have a passion for helping people find their next job. Some years ago, I got involved with Atlanta JobSeekers, a local volunteer organization designed to help people during their job search.

To better serve the group, I began asking for input from the job seekers I was coaching. I asked them about their greatest challenges, their frustrations, what worked and what didn’t. Our group met at a local restaurant, so I literally used to write my notes on napkins. After a couple of years, I had collected a lot of napkins and I learned a lot about the ups and downs of searching for a job.

I found that I was answering the same questions over and over again and realized that there were not any resources available to help guide people through a step-by-step job search. I discovered that job seekers tend to focus on the wrong things at the wrong times and that often they actively search without a clear plan for finding their next job.  Most, left their plan up to responding to job postings and watching their resume enter the "Black Hole", never to return again.

I also realized that many of the best practices used in recruiting were transferable to the job search.  So, I combined my personal experience as an executive search consultant with the experiences of everyday job seekers to create a simple step-by-step job search system called Career Handler. I have used the system to increase the effectiveness of my coaching sessions and I have seen people use these tools and tactics to create real results. Career Handler was designed to help you take control of your next career move. It’s not just about finding a job. It’s about finding the right job where your passion and profession can come together.  I want that for you!
